Power supply maker Super Flower launches a dongle that guards GPU power cables
Super Flower's VGA 12+4PIN OCP Dongle sits between the power supply cable and a graphics card's 12V-2x6 connector. It watches the current on each 12 V line. If a line carries between 9.5 A and 12 A, or two lines drift more than 6 A apart, it beeps and shows an orange light. Above 12 A, and after a set delay, it switches to a black-screen protection mode. It is listed at NT$1,190 in Taiwan, but for now it only comes bundled with Leadex VIII power supplies.
Affects you: Reports of melting 12V-2x6 connectors keep coming in. A device like this can warn you, but it does not fix the connector itself, and you can't buy it on its own yet.
