ZapFast

An unofficial WhatsApp app for Linux, macOS and Windows, written in Rust without a browser engine. It links to your phone as a companion device.

What’s new: For people who find WhatsApp Web heavy: in the maker's Linux test it uses about 200 MB of idle RAM against 1.13 GB. Using it may break WhatsApp's terms.

Observer

A free, open-source app for iOS and Android that uses small AI models running on the phone to watch a camera and alert you when something happens.

What’s new: For people with an old phone lying around: it can, for example, message you when a bird is in a nest, without sending video to the cloud.

What’s new: For teams running many repositories: they can set review rules in code instead of by hand. The review summary comment is also more compact.
