Startup Ricursive Intelligence releases Ripple-65B, an open AI model aimed at coding
Ricursive Intelligence has published Ripple-65B Preview on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license. It is a 65-billion-parameter model trained on 12 trillion tokens, and it can handle up to 1,048,576 tokens of context. The company says it scores 80.52 on the TerminalBench 2.1 coding test, ahead of much larger open models such as Meta's Muse Spark Open 816B (76.4) and Nvidia's Nemotron 3 Ultra 550B (56.4). It says a team of 1 to 5 people trained it, starting from an Olmo 3 baseline, and that it chose a simpler dense design over the mixture-of-experts design many other labs use.
Hype check: The benchmark scores are the company's own and not yet checked by others. The model is free to download and use, so developers can test the claims themselves.
