Xreal starts selling Aura, wired smart glasses running Google's Android XR, from $1,099
Xreal, Google's smart glasses partner, launched the Xreal Aura at Google's Android Developer Summit. The 95-gram glasses connect by wire to a small pocket computer with a Snapdragon Reality Elite chip. They use Sony Micro-OLED screens at 1200p and 120 Hz, can show several virtual screens and include Google's Gemini assistant. Orders are open in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea, and shipping starts by mid-November. Until December, the 12GB/256GB model costs $1,099 and the 16GB/512GB model $1,299. After that, they cost $1,279 and $1,499.
Do anything? No rush. It is one of the first Android XR glasses, and they are heavier than Meta's and need a wire to a pocket computer.
